Job summary

Doosan Bobcat, a global leader in construction and agricultural equipment, seeks a Manufacturing Engineer Sr to advise multiple teams on methods, materials, and processes to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost. You will influence design for manufacturing, lead continuous improvement, and guide capital projects across manufacturing sites.

The role requires strong problem solving, deep domain knowledge in SAP ERP and APRISO MES, and proven leadership. Travel may be involved.

Qualifications

• BS degree in mechanical, industrial or manufacturing engineering or related field.
• Lean manufacturing experience with belt certification preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience: 5–7 years; travel required.

Responsibilities

• Analyze time and motion, methods, estimating, process engineering and plant layout to balance methods and capacity.
• Oversee factory processes for cost, time, ergonomic, quality and quantity factors.
• Approve changes and justify capital investments; lead new manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Develop MBOM changes and costing; manage budgets and installation of new equipment.

Job Information

As a Manufacturing Engineer Sr, you will work in an advisory capacity to manufacturing, engineering, and/or purchasing departments using knowledge of methods and materials in specialized field or general manufacturing in order to optimize safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people.

Role & Responsibility

Process Analysis

• Analysis of time and motion, methods, estimating, process engineering and plant layout for facility to ensure balanced methods and available capacity to meet customer demand.
• Oversee factory manufacturing processes in terms of their associated cost, time, ergonomic, quality, and quantity factors.
• Approve changes, prepare capital justifications, and direct the design and development of new manufacturing processes, systems, equipment, and materials to contribute to the company’s short more effectively- and long-term economic objectives.
• Oversee manufacturing changes, associated operating work instructions, and the training of operators on these changes.
• Develops budget and justification for the procurement of new machines and equipment. Select, order equipment, and oversee its installation. Projects the year over year spend and prioritizes capital projects. Trains and directs subordinates on equipment selection, installation and managing budget of projects. Assists with Annual Operations Plan (AOP) planning.
• Track project requisitions and purchase orders to ensure spend is within allotted budget.
• Oversees changes to routings, development of new Manufacturing bill of materials (MBOM) and costing of new products. Relays effects of these changes to operations and finance.
• Manage scope change process.
• Review and guide new product development with respect to design for manufacturing and assembly.

Problem Solving

• Produce, publish, and vault complete documentations for all tools.
• Review engineering designs for the purpose of estimating tool and manufacturing cost. Recommend design changes to maximize economical manufacturing and manufacturing planned processes. Deny design changes, when necessary, by providing appropriate information to design on the impact on manufacturing.
• Prepare evaluations of, and justification for, the procurement of new machines and equipment. Select and order equipment, oversee its installation and training of employees.
• Assist engineering, sourcing, and manufacturing personnel in problem solving activities related to assigned area for product support.

Job Requirement

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or related engineering field
• Sufficient experience in lieu of degree accepted
• Sufficient experience / knowledge with SAP ERP and APRISO MES in a manufacturing environment, with the ability to independently support, troubleshoot, and optimize system-related material and inventory processes without extensive training.
• Proven knowledge of material flow engineering, including warehouse operations, internal logistics, point-of-use replenishment, material handling optimization, slotting strategy, and end-to-end flow design from receiving through shipping.
• Experience improving inventory accuracy, inventory control, and system transaction governance by aligning physical material movement with ERP/MES processes, master data, and operational standards.
• Product and Industry knowledge is a plus.
• Leadership experience.
• Experience: 5 > 7 Years, Travel Standard
• Lean Manufacturing experience preferred with Green Belt or Black Belt training or certification.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
