Job summary

Solestial in Tempe, AZ, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer – Solar Module Manufacturing to develop, optimize, and implement the materials and processes used to build Solestial’s solar modules.

You will work with Product/Process Engineering, Manufacturing, Equipment, and Quality teams to translate designs into reliable, repeatable production processes and to improve yield, quality, and manufacturability while supporting supplier qualification and new design transfers.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience developing, optimizing, and implementing manufacturing processes for complex hardware.
• Experience translating product requirements into manufacturing processes, material specifications, process specifications, and work instructions.
• Experience with process validation, qualification testing, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
• Strong knowledge of materials selection, characterization and testing (polymers, adhesives, thermal interface materials, electrical insulation).

Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and document manufacturing processes & documentation for solar module assembly and integration.
• Collaborate with design engineering in material evaluation and selection (polymers, adhesives, thermal interface materials, insulation).
• Translate product requirements into practical manufacturing processes, work instructions, and process specifications.
• Plan and execute process trials, experiments, and qualification activities to improve yield, quality, reliability, and manufacturability.
• Coordinate materials characterization, process validation, design verification, and hardware qualification testing.
• Troubleshoot materials, process, and integration issues with cross-functional teams.
• Support transfer of new module designs and processes from development into production.
• Develop process controls, acceptance criteria, and standard methodologies for high-quality production.
• Support supplier selection, material qualification, and supplier development.
