Manufacturing Engineer – Purchasing (MEP), Controls

Working Pattern: Onsite/Hybrid

Location: Indianapolis, IN

As Manufacturing Engineer – Purchasing Controls, you will lead all aspects of the external supply chain manufacturing activities, ensuring quality, cost, and delivery requirements are met for designated programs and components. You will collaborate within a cross-functional team, with an emphasis on manufacturing, to achieve procurement objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Provide manufacturing input to design engineering to ensure component designs are manufacturable and facilitate design for manufacture supplier events.
  • Represent manufacturing perspectives regarding component sourcing strategies.
  • Collaborate with Procurement & Quality teams to establish new suppliers.
  • Develop and conduct supplier manufacturing readiness and technical risk assessments.
  • Support suppliers regarding quality requirements (APQP, FAIR, PPAP, Drawing Alteration Requests, SABRe).
  • Perform supplier hardware delivery source inspections.
  • Create an environment of continuous improvement by sharing and implementing best practices.
Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • Associates degree in Engineering, Technology, or Business with 4+ years’ experience, or
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Technology, or Business with 2+ years’ experience, or
  • Master's Degree or JD/PhD in Engineering, Technology, or Business.

Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to achieve Certified Rolls-Royce source inspector status.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies like Six Sigma Black Belt.
  • Strong understanding of SABRe, FAIR, PPAP requirements.
  • Experience in a global manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with electronics and controls manufacturing and certification processes.
  • Experience in robust design methodologies.
  • Experience designing manufacturing tooling, gaging, and fixtures.
  • Proven track record working with suppliers to deliver world-class manufacturing performance.
