Job summary

Linamar Corporation is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to oversee production processes on the shop floor and new product lines. The role collaborates with cross-functional teams to meet production goals and customer requirements.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, it offers a pathway to impactful tooling and process improvements. The starting pay is $75,000, with responsibilities spanning CAD design, CNC programming, tooling cost estimates, and technical support for production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or Industrial Engineering.
• Experience in manufacturing engineering preferred.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, techniques, and methodologies.
• Proficiency in CAD/CAM software and manufacturing simulation tools.

Responsibilities

• Prepare process sheets detailing tooling and setup requirements.
• Design CAD drawings for tooling, gauges, gauge holders, and fixtures.
• Prepare tooling cost estimates for processes by conducting tool usage studies.
• Read and interpret part prints for rough castings and finished machined parts.
• Select new and improve existing tooling for machining processes.
• Provide technical support for production floor.
• Research and report the requirements for implementing new production processes.
• Program and operate CNC machine tools.
• Manage all cost savings by department/line.
• Generate monthly reports.
• Work with manufacturers on tooling improvements and problem resolution.
• Vendor/Customer problem resolution.
• Perform miscellaneous activities as requested by management.
