Job summary

Magneti Marelli Parts & Services in Canton, MS is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our Canton team, reporting to the production manager with a dotted line to engineering. This role is based at our Canton office and will support new product launches and process improvements.

You will develop manufacturing processes, create work instructions, coordinate tooling purchases, and drive Kaizen activities to improve quality and efficiency while ensuring safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field with 2–5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering.
• Master’s Degree with 2–4 years of related experience; certification in some areas may be required.
• Experience with integrated computer programs and/or applications and strong communication, administrative and organizational skills.
• Able to pass background checks and pre-employment tests, including drug screening.
• Able to maintain confidentiality and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Develop new manufacturing processes to support new product launch activities.
• Create essential line documentation (routers, work instructions, etc.) to support processes.
• Negotiate with suppliers for tooling and equipment purchases.
• Prepare reports and participate in meetings (TPDS, Process Plan Sheets, Rework Procedures).
• Manage quotes for new business, including equipment, tooling, manning, and time estimates.
• Plan manufacturing processes and define engineering standards; perform FMEA for new lines.
• Lead process trials and improvements; implement countermeasure strategies.
• Ensure QS documentation and 5S adherence; complete related forms and check sheets.
• Provide production line support (equipment, quality, efficiency, maintenance) and guidance.
• Coordinate quality efforts related to Exhaust parts and safety compliance.
• Conduct Kaizen activities to improve quality and efficiency; update SOS and assist with GKD support.
• Follow safety standards for all machinery and processes.
