Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our Engineering team in Ohio. You will collaborate with design engineers to transfer new products into manufacturing, improve throughput, and troubleshoot equipment to minimize downtime.

The role emphasizes fixture and gauge development, hands-on repair, and instruction creation for operators. Strong communication with cross-functional teams and a proactive approach to process optimization are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a 2 year associate’s degree is required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience in design or troubleshooting automated manufacturing equipment.
• Familiarity with pneumatics, solenoids, and PLC programming.
• Experience creating and maintaining 2D drawings with tolerancing.
• Solidworks experience a plus; used for fixtures and gauges.
• Able to operate electrical hand tools, lathe or mill; CNC experience a plus.
• Experience in clean manufacturing environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Designing and creating new assembly/test fixtures and inspection gauges
• Hands on troubleshooting of current manufacturing equipment
• Training and working closely with production associates
• Communicating and working with the engineering design team
• Creatively and quickly thinking of new ideas to implement and improve processes
• Creating operator work instructions for new equipment and processes being implemented
• Investigating new equipment purchases and preparing ROI presentations to justify purchases
