Job summary

General Motors Company is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to troubleshoot heat exchanger process equipment, lead continuous improvement projects, and develop maintenance documentation. This role focuses on root-cause analysis, process control plans, and collaboration across safety, quality, production, and maintenance teams.

Ideal candidates have a mechanical engineering background, hands-on troubleshooting skills, and the ability to lead projects and coordinate across shifts, including

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience.
• Problem-Solving: Proven ability to resolve quality issues and troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns.
• Project Leadership: Experience leading projects and defining scopes of work for maintenance teams.
• Schedule Flexibility: Ability to support off-shifts and weekends as needed by the business.

The Role

Manufacturing Engineering position that will support machine troubleshooting, continuous improvement projects, and problem solving on heat exchanger process equipment.

What You’ll Do

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience.
• Problem‑Solving: Proven ability to resolve quality issues and troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns.
• Project Leadership: Experience leading projects and defining scopes of work for maintenance teams.

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

• Industry Experience: Background in manufacturing engineering, quality engineering, or maintenance.
• Technical Troubleshooting: Hands‑on equipment troubleshooting experience, including familiarity with hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Technical Literacy: Ability to read and interpret equipment drawings.
• Design Software: Proficiency using SolidWorks.
• Union Environment: Experience working collaboratively in a unionized facility.

Compensation

The expected base compensation for this role is: $80,200.00 - $125,900.00 USD Annual. Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.

Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
