Job summary

Dexter Laundry, Inc. in Fairfield, IA is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to drive safe, high‑quality, and environmentally responsible production.

You’ll design smarter processes, optimize layouts, and work with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Safety and Environmental teams to reduce waste and strengthen compliance. You’ll lead CNC nesting, maintain routings and BOMs, perform time studies, develop fixtures, and pursue Lean initiatives to boost safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering or related discipline.
• Strong analytical and hands-on technical skills.
• Experience with sheet metal, welding, assembly, ergonomics and CI/Lean.

Responsibilities

• Champion safety, quality, and environmental performance in every process.
• Drive value-stream improvements to enhance safety and reduce defects.
• Program and maintain CNC nesting for parts and tooling.
• Maintain routings, labor standards, and accurate BOM structures.
• Conduct capacity, takt time, and inventory studies aligned with demand.
• Lead Lean initiatives to eliminate waste and improve flow.
• Develop and maintain facility and equipment layouts with ergonomics in mind.
• Analyze data to solve scrap and quality issues.
• Create fixtures, jigs, and tooling for fabrication, welding, and assembly.
• Recommend capital improvements for safety and compliance.
• Perform work measurement and time studies for labor standards.
• Create robotic programs for automated processes.
• Collaborate with Safety/Environmental teams to meet standards.
