Manufacturing Engineer (Lean Manufacturing & Automation Systems) - Semiconductor Industry

The Opportunity

Our client is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join their growing Thermal Interface Materials (TIM) department. This role offers an exciting opportunity to drive continuous improvement initiatives and lead critical manufacturing projects for a division experiencing significant growth. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced engineers and have access to mentorship from senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead 15-20 strategic manufacturing projects focused on continuous improvement, productivity enhancement, and safety initiatives for 2025
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles and cost reduction strategies across production processes
  • Provide hands-on troubleshooting support for mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Manage and optimize automation technologies, including:
  • Extrusion presses
  • Blending systems for specialty materials
  • Large mixing tanks and vacuum systems
  • Utilize Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) to monitor and optimize production efficiency
  • Partner with quality department to drive defect tracking and resolution
  • Train and educate production teams on equipment changeovers and best practices
  • Develop and implement SOPs, FMEAs, and control plans

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
  • 5-7 years of manufacturing engineering experience, preferably in automotive, aerospace, consumer electronics, or metal fabrication industries
  • Proven experience with continuous improvement methodologies and lean manufacturing principles
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting capabilities
  • Project management experience, including managing capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects
  • Hands-on approach to problem-solving and equipment optimization

Qualifications

  • Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
  • Automation systems expertise
  • Strong background in process efficiency and cost reduction initiatives
  • MOST Training certification
  • AutoCAD proficiency
  • Experience in semiconductor or electronics manufacturing
