Job summary

Voltage Energy is seeking a manufacturing engineer to develop and optimize processes for safe, efficient production in our Timberlake, NC facility. You will collaborate with Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and Engineering to implement improvements and drive cost reductions.

The role requires 2–5 years in manufacturing engineering, a bachelor’s degree in a related field, experience with Lean, PFMEA, and ERP systems (SAP preferred).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field required.
  • 2–5 years of manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Experience in production environments (wire harness, electrical assembly, automotive, or similar) preferred.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and process improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with PFMEA, Control Plans, and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred).
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain manufacturing processes, work instructions, and process documentation.
  • Analyze production workflows to identify and implement efficiency improvements.
  • Establish labor standards and process cycle times.
  • Support process validation and production readiness activities.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing equipment and process-related issues.
  • Investigate defects and implement corrective actions to improve quality.
  • Support daily production operations to enhance throughput and performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize manufacturability and reduce waste.
  • Participate in Lean and continuous improvement initiatives, including Kaizen events.
  • Monitor KPIs and identify opportunities to reduce scrap, rework, and downtime.
  • Maintain manufacturing records, BOMs, and engineering change documentation.
  • Analyze production data and develop reports to support decision-making.
  • Support ERP transactions and manufacturing system updates.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and manufacturing standards.
