    We are looking for a talented Manufacturing Engineer to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Engine Business Segment in Jamestown, NY .

    In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

    · Contributes to the planning, designing, purchasing, and implementation of changes to the manufacturing equipment and systems while contributing to teams.

    · Assists with the work for specific projects to create and implement all aspects of a manufacturing processes to ensure safety requirements, manufacturing goals, business goals, and product specifications are met.

    · Contributes by applying the knowledge or use of manufacturing principles and practices to improve manufacturing equipment and processes.

    · Assists with the development of manufacturing standards and working methods by using continuous improvement tools.

    · Works with internal and external resources on specific project assignments.
    Learns the knowledge of manufacturing principles and practices as they are applied to Cummins.

    Education

    College, university, or equivalent degree required.

    This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

    Experience

    Basic level of relevant work experience required.

    • Strong Mechanical engineering and manufacturing engineering background with proven projects on making improvements/ projects down on the shop floor.
    • Strong GD&T and product knowledge.
    • Strong knowledge in fixture design, machining principals and Tools.
    • Knowledge of Automation and prefer strong background in programming PLC (programmable logic controls) and CNC (computer numerically controlled) machine. If not competent in programming, has a strong understanding of the PLC and CNC principals.
    • Has proven history of working with shop floor operators and Skilled trades to resolve production issues and implement improvement projects.
    • Has a good understanding of quality systems and tools to support the quality organization.
    • Has strong focus on safety and ergonomic. Demonstrates projects that are focused on these.
    • Are very hands on in solving engineering and manufacturing issues. Doesn’t mind getting dirty and using tools if needed.

    Compensation and Benefits

    Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
