Job summary

Times Microwave Systems is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support the production of microwave and millimeter-wave coaxial cable assemblies. You will resolve issues related to components, equipment, and processes to ensure on-time delivery and quality.

The role involves creating documentation, cost/capital studies, root-cause analysis, and implementing process improvements. Proficiency with SolidWorks, PNA test equipment, and Lean/Six Sigma is desirable.

Qualifications

• BSME or higher degree.
• 5+ years' experience in cable assembly/manufacturing environment.
• Experience with RF coaxial cable or cable assemblies.
• Experience with Lean/Six Sigma and CAPA/Change Management.

Responsibilities

• Creating and maintaining documentation for manufacturing and testing of RF coaxial cable assemblies.
• Conducting feasibility studies to estimate product cost and equipment needs.
• Identifying root causes of mechanical and electrical failures on the production floor.
• Implementing process improvements to reduce inefficiencies and failures.
• Designing tooling and fixtures to support production needs.
• Providing training, qualification, and validation for processes and equipment.
• Ensuring compliance with internal standards, processes, and procedures.

UFAMANUFACTURING ENGINEER

Summary

The Manufacturing Engineer supports the Production Department by resolving issues related to components, equipment and processes of the manufacture and assembly of microwave and millimeter wave frequency coaxial cable assemblies. The Manufacturing Engineer works in concert with Production and Operations to assure efficient manufacturing of products to meet customer scheduling and quality requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Creating/maintaining/reviewing/improving/troubleshooting documentation related to manufacturing and testing of RF coaxial cable assemblies.
• Conducting feasibility studies to estimate product cost and analyze capital equipment, capacity, and capability requirements.
• Identifying root cause of mechanical and electrical failures on the production floor.
• Implementing process improvements to correct manufacturing inefficiencies and failures
• Providing analysis and solutions to complex material screening and sorting issues
• Designing/developing tooling and fixtures to support production needs
• Providing training/qualification/validation for processes and equipment as required
• Ensuring compliance with internal standards, processes, and procedures.

Qualifications/Requirements

• BSME or Higher
• 5+ years' experience in cable assembly/manufacturing environment or equivalent
• Experience in the manufacture of raw RF cable or cable assemblies,
• Experience with resistance soldering equipment,
• Experience with PNA test equipment,
• Experienced using Lean Principles and tools
• Experience using Control Processes and Procedures including Change Management System, Nonconformance Reports, Engineering Specifications, Takt time/rate, Corrective & Preventive Action (CAPA), and Work Instructions
• Experience using Six Sigma and/or or other problem-solving methodologies
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
• Proficiency with SolidWorks,
• Experience reading and understanding drawings and specifications
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Excellent time and project management skills
