Based in Wheeling, Illinois, you'll support the production of precision medical device components by leading manufacturing improvement projects, introducing new technologies, and optimizing advanced manufacturing processes. Working alongside manufacturing, engineering, quality, and operations teams, you'll help improve efficiency, reduce waste, support New Product Introduction (NPI), and develop manufacturing solutions that directly contribute to life-enhancing medical devices.
What you'll be doing
In this role, you will:
- Lead manufacturing improvement and automation projects
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities
- Design and improve manufacturing processes and production fixtures
- Optimize CNC machining, Swiss machining, and other advanced manufacturing processes
- Improve plant layout, material flow, and manufacturing efficiency
- Implement Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
- Develop manufacturing documentation, setup procedures, and equipment qualifications
- Perform process validation and manufacturing testing
- Analyze production issues using root cause analysis and statistical methods
- Collaborate with vendors on equipment, tooling, and manufacturing solutions
- Support cost reduction, quality improvement, and lead-time reduction initiatives

What we're looking for
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
- 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience
- Experience in medical, aerospace, pharmaceutical, or military manufacturing
- New Product Introduction (NPI) experience
- Lean Manufacturing experience
- Strong project management skills
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
