Job summary

Milwaukee Tool in Bend, Oregon, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer II to provide production support and manage simple to moderate projects. You will drive process improvements, cost reduction, and quality enhancements on the shop floor.

You’ll troubleshoot production issues, work on continuous improvement initiatives, and mentor technicians. Knowledge of robotic and PLC programming, SPC, and QA methods will help you deliver timely, data-driven changes in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field required.
  • Minimum of 3 years engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of production systems and techniques.
  • Able to problem solve and use root cause analysis.
  • Ability to work hands-on with the equipment if needed.

Responsibilities

  • Provide production support and manage simple to moderate projects.
  • Troubleshoot problems, support maintenance, and ensure equipment is in control.
  • Work on continuous improvement projects to increase productivity; includes vendor relationships.
  • Drive cost reduction through project executions and process improvements.
  • Knowledge of robotic programming and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of PLC programming for troubleshooting automated systems.
  • Use statistical process control to identify problems and propose quick solutions.
  • Give direction and training to technicians on manufacturing equipment.
  • Familiar with quality systems and 8D problem solving.
  • Conduct capability and time studies and implement improvements.
  • Transfer information to shift and plant-wide personnel.
  • Monitor budget and forecast and factor into daily decisions.
  • Participate in Kaizen and project engineering as needed.
  • Understand capital investment concepts like payback and standard costs.
