Position Summary: This Manufacturing Engineering position is with Fujifilm Dimatix, Inc. located in Lebanon, NH. The Manuracturing Engineer II (MEMS Backend Focus) is a primary support role for the manufacture of precision ink jet printheads, focused on MEMS based products. This position develops, implements and maintains methods, operation sequence and processes in the manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, sub‑assemblies and final assemblies. Evaluates and improves manufacturing processes by designing and conducting assessments; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment engineers; soliciting observations from technicians. Performs troubleshooting and physical analysis to understand the root cause of product failure. Makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines which can improve yield, throughput and/or reduce cost. Interfaces with design engineering in coordinating the release of new subassemblies. Maintains records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations.

Complete knowledge and full understanding of area of specialization, principles and practices within a professional discipline. Assesses unusual circumstances and uses sophisticated analytical and problem solving techniques to identify cause. Resolves and assesses a wide range of issues in creative ways and suggests variations in approach. This job is the fully qualified, experienced professional, journey-level position.

Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of information requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Devises solutions based on limited information and precedent and adapts existing approaches to resolve issues. Uses evaluation, judgment, and interpretation to select right course of action. QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily. REQUIRED:

  • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience.
  • Micro packaging, PCBA, Reflow Experience with structured problem solving methodologies (Cp/CpK, Gage R&R, FMEA, DOE)
  • Experience with manual and automated assembly processes
  • Well versed in lean concepts with record of accomplishments
  • Knowledge of GD&T (ANSI Y14.5), 3D CAD Experience, Autocad or Solidworks
  • Ability to participate, lead and/or mentor in a team environment.
  • Working knowledge of safety and ergonomic practices
  • Familiar with industrial engineering concepts (Capacity Planning, Time Study, Simulation, Work Station Dynamics)
  • Familiar with financial concepts associated with operations
  • Experience in area of tool design
  • Experience in clean room protocol.
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills, in order to effectively present information to co-workers, customers and management.
  • Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

DESIRED:

  • Inkjet experience is preferred
  • Head/MEMS assembly
  • Datacon flip chip assembly system experience or similar
  • Robotics
  • High precision tooling and fixture development and automation
