Job Description

We are seeking a process engineer focused on the manufacturing of phosphor-coated fiber optics. Responsibilities include:

  1. Optimizing manufacturing processes and equipment to reduce touch time, minimize costs, and increase yield.
  2. Collaborating with the Operations team to manage process improvements, defect analysis, and operator training.
  3. Working in cross-functional teams to address safety, quality, delivery, and productivity issues.
  4. Conducting failure analysis to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  5. Enhancing image intensifier performance (e.g., Phosphor Efficiency, Resolution, MTF) as part of a cross-functional team.
Qualifications
  • Ability to obtain a Security Clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Materials Engineering, or equivalent experience with critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • At least 2 years of technical experience or academic research in optics or related fields.
  • Effective analytical and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis techniques and SPC.
  • Experience designing structured experiments.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members across different technical levels, from process operators to engineers.
  • Proficiency in optics manufacturing processes such as grinding, polishing, and inspection.
  • Six Sigma certification.
  • Experience writing complex MS Access queries.
  • Proficiency with statistical analysis software like Minitab, JMP, or SAS.
  • Ability to collaborate across all facets of the Night Vision organization.
  • Self-initiating business and professional improvements.
  • Supporting organizational culture and building morale.
