Job description

Manufacturing Engineer II - DIRECT HIRE

Category: Government & Defence

Summary:

Under general supervision, performs engineering design activities including the development of engineering deliverables and specifications on assigned contracts, prepares quotation requests and purchase orders for equipment and materials, and undertakes field assignments and factory inspections to ensure compliance with specifications. Applies industry-accepted engineering techniques and criteria.

Responsibilities:
  1. Support manufacturing processes: Perform general engineering duties, including studies, drafts, specifications, cost, and scheduling documents. Set priorities and manage daily responsibilities across multiple manufacturing processes and products.
  2. Project communication: Communicate project needs, schedules, and activities to project management, proposal writing, and budgeting teams.
  3. Operator procedures: Prepare and update shop floor operator procedures and address daily production issues.
  4. Project management: Assist with taking projects from inception to production, ensuring timely delivery within budget.
  5. Continuous improvement: Participate in ongoing improvement projects.
  6. Other duties: Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Skills and Requirements:
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing methods and techniques (hands-on).
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Cost estimating and facilities planning skills.
  • Proficiency in Word, Access, Excel, AutoCAD, 3-D Modeling, Outlook, SAP, and other relevant software.
  • Technical writing skills for procedures and reports.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in Industrial Technology, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 5+ years in Manufacturing Engineering.
Licenses & Certifications:
  • Optional: PLCs, Robotic Programming, DOE, Project Management, ISO Auditor certifications.
  • Strongly preferred: Munitions experience.

Compensation:

Estimated salary range: $77,000 - $110,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
