Job summary

TE Connectivity Ltd. in the United States is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to design, program, and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, SCADA, and motion control systems for manufacturing equipment.

You will support production by diagnosing issues, develop control documentation, and drive improvements to OEE and product quality. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in manufacturing controls.

Responsibilities

  • Design, program, modify, and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, SCADA, and motion control systems for manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • Support production operations by diagnosing and resolving controls-related issues to minimize downtime.
  • Develop and maintain electrical drawings, control system documentation, and programming standards.
  • Support capital projects from concept to implementation within defined schedules.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurring failures.
  • Optimize manufacturing processes to improve OEE, throughput, and product quality.
  • Provide technical leadership and training to technicians and junior engineers.

Responsibilities
  • Design, program, modify, and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, SCADA, and motion control systems for manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • Support production operations by diagnosing and resolving controls-related equipment issues to minimize downtime.
  • Develop and maintain electrical drawings, control system documentation, and programming standards.
  • Support capital improvement and automation projects from concept through implementation within defined schedules.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurring equipment and process failures.
  • Optimize manufacturing processes to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), throughput, and product quality.
  • Support equipment commissioning, validation, and startup activities.
  • Provide technical leadership and training to technicians, operators, and junior engineers.
Qualifications
  • Understanding of safety systems and functional safety standards a plus
  • Digital Factory/Hydra experience a plus
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize through an evolving set of objectives based on business conditions, capital planning, and new product launches.
  • Capability to work in a fast paced, dynamic global environment.
  • Proficient in MS Office Software such as Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • SAP experience a plus.
  • Strong project management skills required.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or 3 - 5 years’ experience in manufacturing controls or similar discipline.

Compensation
  • Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $85,400-106,700 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
  • Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
  • Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
