Job description

Manufacturing Engineer I/II

Location: Stoughton, WI or Evansville, WI

Productive Resources (www.productiveresources.com) is seeking a candidate to join our engineering team at our customer's facility in Stoughton, WI. The ideal candidate will have 5 to 10 years of hands-on experience in heavy-duty manufacturing environments, with expertise in agricultural, mining, truck, automotive, and trailer manufacturing and design. This role combines shop floor work, technical proficiency, leadership, and project management in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead design and manufacturing of heavy-duty systems and components for industries such as agriculture, mining, trucks, and trailers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
  • Provide technical leadership on projects exceeding $200,000 in CapEx.
  • Design welded joints, understanding MIG welding processes, weld symbols, and certifications (AWS or equivalent).
  • Apply problem-solving skills to technical challenges to ensure project success.
  • Manage multiple tasks and projects, balancing priorities and deadlines.
  • Drive continuous improvement through innovative solutions and hands-on quality assurance.

Requirements:

  • 5-10 years of practical experience in manufacturing or design within heavy-duty industries (Agriculture, Mining, Trucks, Auto, Trailers).
  • Educational background in a related field (Technician, Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Industrial Engineering).
  • Strong experience with hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
  • Welding expertise, including welded joint design, MIG welding, and AWS or equivalent certifications.
  • Leadership and technical skills on high-budget projects.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and capacity to work independently or in teams.
  • Energetic, adaptable, and results-driven mindset.
  • Ability to spend significant time on the shop floor.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Hands-on manufacturing experience with heavy-duty systems.
  • Ability to manage projects from concept to completion.
  • Effective communication skills for cross-departmental collaboration.
  • Experience or knowledge of automation, control systems, PLCs, and Allen Bradley programming.
