Position Summary

The Manufacturing Engineer 2 ensures maximum cost effectiveness and reliability of manufacturing processes and workflow. Determines methods and sequences of manufacturing operations for moderately complex products and machine parts and assemblies; ensures products and processes meet customer quality requirements. Provides producibility input and manufacturing plans for product design or modification.

Essential Functions
  • Evaluates moderately complex manufacturing processes through process analysis, product design knowledge, and collaboration with suppliers and operators.
  • Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment, and preparing work instructions.
  • Enhances products and processes using continuous improvement and lean principles, and may participate in special projects.
  • Analyzes workflow, space, and equipment layout to improve manufacturing efficiency.
  • Ensures product and process quality through testing, capability analysis, and root cause investigations.
  • Provides manufacturing decision-making data, including costs, schedules, and future requirements.
  • Prepares reports and presents findings to teams, suppliers, or customers.
  • Maintains product and process databases and stays updated with industry best practices.
  • Ensures compliance with legal and safety requirements.
  • Shares knowledge, mentors new employees, and contributes to team efforts.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Certification from SME or ASME preferred.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing principles, aerospace industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency with CAD/CAM and data analysis tools.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
