Manufacturing Engineer II

New Bern, NC / Full-time

Your Responsibilities
  • Provide engineering support of manufacturing shop floor within the department. Develop, maintain, and improve production processes.
  • Actively manage the smooth incorporation of engineering changes into production.
  • Design and establish work instructions per ISO requirements.
  • Monitor systems regularly using Key Performance Indicators like OEE, Equipment Availability, and FPY.
  • Maintain accurate facility layouts in AutoCAD.
  • Drive and support improvement of First Pass Yield, Final Audit Failure Rates, and TCR.
  • Design, evaluate, and improve safety and ergonomics of workstations and processes.
  • Design, implement, and improve material handling systems supporting lean manufacturing using analysis techniques.
  • Generate and implement cost-saving ideas.
  • Maintain data in automated systems and ensure parameters are available for engineering changes.
  • Use data analysis/SPC to drive improvements.
  • Incorporate lean manufacturing principles in all responsibilities.
  • Create and evaluate value stream maps and designs.
  • Design and develop new equipment and fixturing to enhance manufacturing operations.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects.
  • Analyze product requirements, design process/mathematical models, and implement process changes.
  • Research innovative process technology, prepare business cases, and execute plans.
  • Perform business analysis including cost-benefit analysis for new product launches and engineering changes.
  • Work independently with a high degree of latitude.
  • Handle complex issues, referring only the most complex to higher-level staff.
  • May provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to Engineers I & II.
  • Analyze and solve complex engineering problems with suppliers to avoid shortages and shutdowns.
Pay range:

$83K - $111K
