Job Overview

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop expertise in manufacturing processes. Understand process capabilities through critical data analysis and an in-depth understanding of the product. Develop and modify line layouts, including material flow, waste reduction, and ergonomics, utilizing Lean Manufacturing best practices. Participate in transitioning a product from concept to pilot line production and into mass manufacturing.
  2. Analyze and optimize production processes to ensure safety while maximizing Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) in a cost-effective manner, driving towards world-class quality levels. Champion continuous improvement projects (CIP) to maximize yield, capacity, and capability.
  3. Diagnose issues during manufacturing and implement corrective actions to identify and eliminate root causes. Use structured problem-solving techniques such as DMAIC, Ishikawa, Five Why (5W), and Eight Disciplines (8D).
  4. Analyze data from various sources to identify trends in build quality and efficiency. Develop data collection, visualization, and analysis tools. Enable data-driven decisions through predictive insights, integrating factory data systems and using software like MySQL, Python, R, JMP, Minitab, Tableau, and Ignition.
  5. Support engineering and manufacturing activities, including 5S, Lean activities, material handling improvements, production line configuration, and safety procedures.
  6. Monitor and reduce process variation using Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA). Ensure product specifications are met and maintain FMEAs and Control Plans. Manage Engineering Change Orders.
  7. Create and maintain Manufacturing Instructions, routings, and processes. Develop and train technicians and operators. Manage process sustaining activities, including rework procedures.
  8. Support 24/7 production operations.
Background Requirements

Compulsory:

  • BS degree in engineering, mathematics, physical sciences, or related field (advanced degree preferred) with at least two years of work experience.

Preferred:

  • Experience in process development and improvement, with a proven track record in OEE enhancement.
  • Understanding of Bill of Materials, Manufacturing Execution Systems, Specification Management, Change Point Management.
  • Data collection and analysis skills, capable of developing root cause analyses.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and quick aptitude for learning new systems, using techniques like DMAIC, Ishikawa, Five Why, or 8D.
  • Knowledge of Statistical Process Control and its applications.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $83,000 - $124,600 (subject to location and experience)

Includes a comprehensive benefits package: health insurance, 401(k), disability, life insurance, employee stock purchase plan, paid time off, and voluntary benefits.
