Job summary

Rochester Sensors, an Amphenol company, is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer I to drive mechanical design, fixture development, and process improvements at our Coppell, TX site. You will collaborate with machinists and engineers to enhance productivity, quality, and cost performance using SolidWorks and AI-driven tools.

The role requires a mechanical engineering degree and 3+ years in manufacturing environments; familiarity with GD&T and BOM management is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years in mechanical design or manufacturing engineering.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks including 3D modeling, assemblies, GD&T, BOM, and ECO.
• Strong understanding of machining processes, tolerances, materials, and drawings.
• Ability to collaborate with machinists and cross-functional teams.
• Strong technical communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical components, fixtures, and jigs using SolidWorks.
• Create 3D/2D models, BOMs, and drawings with revision control.
• Apply GD&T and material specs to ensure manufacturability and cost.
• Support CNC operations by optimizing designs for milling, turning, drilling, tapping.
• Collaborate with machinists to improve manufacturability and reduce cycle times.
• Develop fixtures and work instructions for standardized processes.
• Perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Support new product introductions and production launches.
• Use AI tools to enhance engineering analyses and documentation.
