Job description

Job Opening: Manufacturing Engineer I

There is an opening for a Manufacturing Engineer I (salary exempt position) based at the ENF Irvine Plant. From time to time, you may be assigned to the Corry/Warren Plants.

Note: These job functions are not intended to be an all-encompassing list of duties:

  1. Manufacturing process development and improvements
  2. Standardizing work instructions and detailed control plans for semi-finished and finished parts
  3. Manufacturing evaluation and optimization (Manufacturing flow, routings, coordination with tooling and programming)
  4. LEAN coordination and implementation throughout the facility, focusing on set-up reduction, tooling, and fixturing
  5. Gage identification, procurement, design, and implementation
  6. Facilitating the manufacturing design process, including design review and route review meetings
  7. Leading the contract review process for new item assessment and processing
  8. Working with sales to quote machining hours and tooling costs
  9. Supporting other duties as required to meet business needs

Essential Functions: Regular attendance as scheduled is required.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Four-year BS Degree in a related Engineering discipline (preferably Mechanical or Industrial Engineering)
  • 2-5 years of manufacturing experience
  • Strong personal computer skills, including Microsoft Office programs
  • Proficient with SolidWorks modeling software and/or NX
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Results-oriented, self-driven, with a strong desire to succeed
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with:

  • Machining or machine tools
  • Manufacturing planning
  • Metallurgy, including heat treatment and mechanical requirements
  • TOC manufacturing concepts
  • Tooling experience
