What You Will Do

Manufacturing Engineers develop and improve manufacturing processes by studying products and manufacturing methods. They provide engineering and manufacturing support expertise to enable on-time, lowest cost hardware delivery with performance and reliability that exceed customer expectations. They execute across all phases of a program including proposal capture, process development, transition to production, and production support.

Manufacturing Engineers design, control, and improve the manufacturing process and system design through a collaborative effort with the value stream team. You would apply your skills to implement improvements that reduce cycle time and cost and improve productivity, while maintaining a high level of safety in the manufacturing environment and quality within the product.

What You Will Learn
  • Manufacturing Engineer responsible for production floor support to operations, Continuous Improvement efforts, Defect Prevention Team (DPT) support, Manufacturing Data Package (MDP) readiness, Design interface and/or Change Requests (CR), and Non-Recurring Engineering (NRE)
  • Capturing lessons learned on current Production programs (ie Patriot, TPY, etc) and incorporating for future opportunity capture
  • Training/Coaching junior engineers in the value stream
  • Manufacturing and/or producibility reviews of new designs and other Concurrent engineering requests and/or tasks
  • Investigating and driving resolution (including root cause and corrective action support) to production problems, including interfacing with suppliers/supplier quality and other value streams
  • Ability to work cross functionally with operations, maintenance, quality, test, and design.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and a minimum 0-2 years of prior relevant experience.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Technical drawing interpretation, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Proficiency with CAD solid modeling tools (preference for CREO/ProE) and/or simulation tools
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Manufacturing/Enterprise Resource Planning (MRP/ERP) tools and systems (ie PRISM/SAP)
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Manufacturing Shop Floor Management tools and systems (ie cMES)
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Product Data Management tools and systems (ie Windchill/PDM)
  • Familiarity with standard material handling practices, especially as they pertain to Electrostatic Discharge mitigation requirements

The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
