Job summary

Allocortech in Crozet, VA is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer responsible for developing, documenting, and sustaining high‑reliability electronic assembly processes, including PCBAs, SMT, through‑hole soldering, and harness fabrication. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent hands‑on experience.
• 3+ years in electronics manufacturing engineering or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, IPC-A-620; IPC-7711/7721 preferred.
• Ability to read schematics, drawings, BOMs, and ECNs and translate to processes.
• Experience with root‑cause analysis and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve manufacturing processes, work instructions, and SOPs for SMT/SMT assembly, through‑hole, and harness fabrication.
• Coordinate with design engineering on DFM/DFT reviews and NPI introductions.
• Specify and sustain tooling, fixtures, and equipment for high‑reliability assemblies.
• Lead or support root‑cause analysis, non‑conformance disposition, and CAPAs.
• Establish process controls, yields, and quality metrics to meet targets.
• Ensure IPC and aerospace workmanship standards are met; train technicians on processes.
