Job summary

Castelion in Torrance, CA seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to lead day-to-day production of mechanisms, scale from development to production rates, and drive DFx improvements. You will partner with supply chain, develop tooling, and document processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead day to day production of mechanisms such as the Castelion separation system and Launchers.
• Develop process and factory design to transition from development to production rates of 1000s of units per year.
• Develop and refine process documentation including build instructions, test procedures, safety standards, and mBOMs.
• Create, maintain and communicate detailed plans and schedules
• Work closely with supply chain to develop new and existing suppliers
• Design and validate tooling
• Participate in design reviews to drive design for manufacturing (DFM)

Manufacturing Engineer

Outcomes

• Production ready Sep System assembly line by 2027
• Delivery of 1 sep system/week by june 2026
• All launchers completed on time for 2026 flight goals.

Responsibilities

• Lead day to day production of mechanisms such as the Castelion separation system and Launchers.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline
• 4+ years of manufacturing, fabrication, assembly or testing experience or heavy involvement in extra-curricular design teams at the university level.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in aerospace mechanisms.
• Experience with structural welding
• Experience with ordinance
• Experience with NX/Teamcenter CAD/PDM
• Hands on experience in metal fabrication
• Experience in transitioning development process to production

Additional Requirements

• Must be willing to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed.
• Must be able to travel up to 50%
