Job summary

Precision Resource seeks Manufacturing Engineers to join the Vernon Hills, Illinois manufacturing division, located about 30 miles north of Chicago. The role leads the transition from new product development to manufacturing, providing daily production support and driving process improvements with hands-on engineering expertise.

Qualifications

• BS Degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience in machining and/or tool making.
• 1-5+ years experience in metals manufacturing or related internships.
• Experience with SolidWorks or AutoCad.
• Strong analytical skills and mathematical reasoning.
• Ability to read drawings, specifications, and other documents such as safety rules and maintenance instructions.
• Knowledge of production machinery in a metals manufacturing environment.
• Good communication with customers, suppliers, and employees.
• Proficient with MS Office and Outlook.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities and adapt to changing situations.
• Self-motivated with a desire to learn and continuously improve performance.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and coordinate integration of machinery and equipment into manufacturing process.
• Develop equipment specifications, performance requirements, cost analysis, and cost proposals.
• Design fixtures, gauges, custom machines using SolidWorks; purchase tooling.
• Develop manufacturing quotes from RFQ through final costing; compare suppliers.
• Recommend improvements in method, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.
• Develop models of alternate processing methods to test feasibility of new applications.
• Optimize manufacturing processes to improve cost effectiveness and product performance.
• Support production by troubleshooting and improving machinery and conveyors, including robotic systems.
• Create and maintain Power Automate and Power BI reports for production impact.
• Create and deliver PowerPoint presentations for customers and internal leadership.
• Participate in safety initiatives.
