Job summary

Applied Engineering, Inc. in Faribault, MN is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer - Continuous Improvement to lead initiatives improving safety, ergonomics, labor efficiency and gross margin across the Power Test / Loadbanks value stream.

You will redesign processes, support cost-reduction initiatives, conduct time studies, and develop SOPs while partnering with EHS, Quality and Production teams to validate safety and process improvements.

Qualifications

  • BS degree in Industrial/Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience in manufacturing engineering and process improvement.
  • Experience improving workstation safety and ergonomics.
  • Strong analytical and cross-functional communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead initiatives to improve workstation safety, ergonomics, manufacturability, labor efficiency, and gross margin.
  • Identify hazards and implement engineered controls to reduce risks.
  • Redesign processes, tooling, and workstations to lower labor content.
  • Support cost-reduction and value engineering initiatives.
  • Conduct time studies and ergonomic evaluations to quantify gains.
  • Develop SOPs and visual work instructions for safe assembly.
  • Collaborate with EHS, Quality and Production to validate improvements.
