Job summary

Hubbell Incorporated is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Co-op/Intern to assist our manufacturing, design, and engineering teams in our Iron Mountain, MI facility. You will support initiatives to improve safety, quality, delivery and costs while designing fixtures and tooling to enable efficient production.

The role emphasizes Lean Manufacturing, hands-on design, and collaboration with design engineers. A BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field is pursued, with 2nd year+ preferred.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Technology, or related field; 2nd year + preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist manufacturing with safety, quality, delivery and cost improvements.
• Design fixtures, carts, and tooling.
• Research and justify new capital equipment using A3 methodology.
• Create methods for standard work procedures.
• Participate in Rapid Improvement (Kaizen) events.
• Recognize and help with problem solving efforts.
• Assist with preventative maintenance procedures.
• Work with design engineers to implement design changes.
