Job summary

Gorbel Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Co-Op in Pell City, Alabama. You will collaborate with the Manufacturing Engineer to develop and improve methods, processes, and tooling, while collecting production data and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

The role requires active enrollment in an Engineering program, strong communication skills, and proficiency with CAD tools (SolidWorks or AutoCAD) and Microsoft Office. Physical lifting up to 50 lbs and on-site work are expected.

Qualifications

  • Enrollment as Engineering or Engineering Technology student.
  • Strong organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent command of Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CAD (Solidworks and/or AutoCAD) and other computer programs.
  • Ability to independently move about factory and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and plan work force utilization, space requirements, workflow, and designs layout of equipment for maximum efficiency.
  • Develop and implement recommendations for tool redesign changes of materials, methods, etc.
  • Research manufacturing trends, new technology and recommends improvements.
  • Investigate manufacturing problems and recommends solutions.
  • Facilitate Lean Manufacturing initiatives in all manufacturing facilities, participate in continuous improvement projects.
  • Investigate and prepare requests for capital improvements.
  • Review Health, Safety and Environmental.
  • Perform various projects as assigned.

You may be contacted by phone by recruitment personnel based in either Canada or New York. **Work Shift:**First Shift (United States of America)**Job Description:**Work with Manufacturing Engineer to develop, evaluate and improve manufacturing methods. Utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts and fabrication processes, design, document and create production aids, jigs and fixtures. Gain knowledge of tooling and production equipment and their capabilities, then assist with maintenance, upgrades or replacement needs. Develop familiarity with assembly methods, lean manufacturing and quality control standards to assist with improvements in assembly areas.
