Job summary

Moog Inc. in Buffalo, NY is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer/CNC Programmer to develop and optimize CNC milling and secondary machining processes for aerospace components.

This role focuses on transitioning operations to our AIM facility with high-precision demands. You will create CNC programs, review engineering drawings for manufacturability, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to cost estimation and continuous improvement initiatives while working onsite at the Prismatic Manufacturing

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent with 3+ years of relevant experience, or an Associate degree with 6+ years, or 8+ years of proven experience.
  • Proficiency in CNC Mill Machining.
  • 3+ years experience CNC Programming using CAD/CAM software.
  • Hands-on experience with machine setup and operation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize CNC Mill and secondary machining processes for both new and legacy components.
  • Create detailed CNC programs and manufacturing instructions that meet rigorous engineering specifications.
  • Define operation sequences, tooling, gauging, and machine requirements for precision part fabrication.
  • Troubleshoot shop floor issues, including tooling, gauging, workholding, and inspection challenges.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve manufacturing problems and enhance producibility.
  • Create detailed operation sheets and NC programs to produce high-precision machined parts and sub-assemblies.
  • Review engineering drawings for manufacturability and recommend design improvements.
  • Assist in the creation of machine-ready code and be hands-on in the production environment, assisting with program prove-outs and troubleshooting.
  • Estimate setup/run times and tooling hours; contribute to cost estimation for new business proposals.
  • Mentor junior engineers and lead continuous improvement initiatives in processes and equipment.

Our Military Aircraft Group is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer/CNC Programmer to join our Prismatic Manufacturing Group where you’ll play a critical role in transitioning operations into our next-generation Advanced Integrated Manufacturing (AIM) facility. To be considered for Manufacturing Engineer/CNC Programmer, here’s what you’ll typically bring:
  • ABachelor’s degreein a technical field withthree (3) or more yearsof relevant professional experience, or anAssociate degreewithsix (6) or more yearsof relevant professional experience, or eight (8) or more yearsof proven professional experience
  • Proficiency in CNC Mill Machining
  • Three (3) or more years experience CNC Programming using CAD/CAM software
  • Hands-on experience withmachine setup and operation
It’s Preferred If You Bring
  • A degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering
  • Background in the aerospace industry
  • Experience with machine automation integration
  • Skills in inspection of machined parts
  • Hands-on experience machining stainless steel, titanium, and aluminum
  • Proficiency in CNC Programming using Siemens NX
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles; Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus
As a Manufacturing Engineer/CNC Programmer, You Will

Salary Range Transparency

Buffalo, NY $80,000.00–$120,000.00 Annually
