Job summary

MicroPort Orthopedics is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to plan, develop and execute manufacturing processes for medical devices. You will lead cross-functional efforts to optimize fabrication methods, create detailed procedures and validate processes to meet cost objectives.

You will collaborate with R&D on manufacturability, GD&T, and new manufacturing technologies, including additive manufacturing. Strong CAD/CAM and CAM programming experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology or related discipline.
• 2+ years in a manufacturing engineering position in a machine shop.
• 4+ years in a manufacturing engineering position in a machine shop.
• 5+ years in a manufacturing engineering position with CNC programming knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop and execute manufacturing processes for assigned projects.
• Lead projects to determine optimal fabrication methods and develop procedures.
• Perform process validations and track progress against the plan.
• Support development projects for DFM, new manufacturing technology integration and cost objectives.
• Identify CIP opportunities to reduce cost, scrap or waste and improve productivity.
• Collaborate with R&D on manufacturability and GD&T knowledge.
• Investigate and diagnose manufacturing process or equipment issues and implement solutions.
• Assist other engineers, technicians and operators on equipment and process operations.
