Description
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for the technical aspects of furnace building. The primary responsibility of this role is to support multiple furnace and sub-assembly builds, liaising between engineering and industrial assembly. This person will work closely with the project teams, both engineering and assembly, to execute sub-assembly and full furnace builds at Retech.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Understand the design intent and the execution of the furnace.
- Identify and close gaps in work instructions.
- Work with the assembly team to establish building plans for furnaces
- Work with assembly to document and improve furnace and sub assembly work instructions.
- Resolve any internal manufacturing or assembly issues through communication with Design and Project Engineering.
- Resolve any vendor manufacturing issues through communication with Design and Project Engineering.
- Analyze and plan workflow, equipment placement and space requirements to improve manufacturing efficiency for full furnace builds.
- Maintain project plans and hit lists to ensure furnaces are complete.
- Assist in breakdown and shipping planning for furnaces.Drive continuous improvement through better drawings and work instructions.
- Help organize resource allocation for furnace builds.
- Support the work of contractors from multiple disciplines on-site.
- Support assembly teams to ensure all parts are available for sub-assembly and furnace builds.
- Ability to handle exceptions and ambiguity.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to be proactive and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
- Mechanical aptitude is a must.
- Electrical, Vacuum, Hydraulic, Water and Pneumatic experience a plus
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in an engineering field.
- 10 + years in a manufacturing setting desired.
- Engineered to Order large capital equipment experience desired.

- Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally (~15%).
