Job summary

Wood-Mizer is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for our Batesville, IN plant to plan and optimize manufacturing processes, develop CAD models, and maintain documentation for efficient production. You will be a hands-on technical resource supporting production teams, management, and vendors to improve methods and reduce costs.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of manufacturing experience.
• Ability to develop engineering models, drawings, and bills of materials.
• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Working knowledge of 3D CAD software.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing database systems.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain 3D CAD models of products and ensure data accuracy.
• Produce manufacturing documentation: prints, tolerances, BOMs, assembly instructions, quality checklists.
• Improve manufacturing methods across fabrication, tooling, equipment, finishing, assembly, and quality control.
• Analyze workflow, space requirements, and workforce utilization for efficiency.
• Support production teams in troubleshooting product and process issues.
• Evaluate, develop, and process product improvement requests.
• Coordinate with vendors for equipment/materials and procurement.
• Estimate production times, staffing, and related costs; apply statistics for forecasting.
• Coordinate with management on capabilities and production schedules.
