Job summary

Foundational Industries in the Bay Area is seeking a manufacturing/process engineer to own routings, fixtures, and line design for high-velocity production. You will define takt targets, develop work instructions, and ensure data collection from day one to enable traceability on the floor.

You will drive fixture design, process repeatability, and MES integration, while leading cross-functional efforts to identify bottlenecks and implement improvements that reduce labor hours and improve yield.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in manufacturing or process engineering in fabrication, welding, machining, or electromechanical assembly.
• Ownership of routings, fixtures, and line layout to meet takt targets.
• Experience designing fixtures and ensuring process repeatability.
• Hands-on fluency across core processes and DFM judgment.
• Experience stand up documentation systems for routings and work instructions.
• Familiarity with MES, SPC, or shop floor data collection.

Responsibilities

• Own process routings and takt targets on the active product line, with machine and labor times defined.
• Design and qualify fixtures for critical operations, embedding quality and repeatability.
• Lead line layout, station balancing, and time estimates with data-driven methods.
• Develop and maintain work instructions, routings, and time studies.
• Integrate process data into MES and traceability platforms for visibility.
• Identify bottlenecks and implement countermeasures to improve flow.
• Drive cost-down initiatives: setup reduction, fixture consolidation, and automation candidates.
