$80,000.00/yr - $95,000.00/yr
The Manufacturing Engineer will join a growing team of engineers working under the Automation Engineering Manager at our client's IL production site. This person will have oversight of the assembly process, driving improvements, organizing machine cells, and troubleshooting as needed. This role can expect to rise to a leadership position quickly down the line.
Our client is a Tier One Automotive supplier with 10+ production sites and 2000+ employees across the US. They are involved in assembly operations for some of the most reputable OEMs in the auto space. Their IL site in particular is poised for fantastic growth over the next couple of years, so this position will be getting in at a very exciting time for our client. With a focus on internal promotions, continuing training/education, and a continuous improvement mindset, my client demonstrates that they care about progression and growth on all fronts.
Description
- Work with robotics/automated equipment, troubleshooting as needed and designing tooling/fixtures to improve throughput
- Using LEAN/Six Sigma principles, identify areas for process improvements and implement those initiatives into production
- Implement/update machine cell layouts using 3D Modeling software
- Establish and maintain process flow, writing work instructions, SOPs, and PFMEAs
- Train/guide maintenance team on proper handling of machinery and other equipment
Profile
- 2+ years experience in manufacturing
- Strong experience working with SolidWorks or similar 3D modeling software
- Basic understanding of thermodynamics, and how heat/pressure affect materials
- Experience using PFMEAs
- Background leading/participating in LEAN/continuous improvements, and a mindset of always searching for ways to optimize manufacturing processes
- Technical/engineering degree preferred, but can be made up for with relevant experience
- Experience working with automation
- Experience writing/handling/reviewing of engineering documents
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
Job Offer
- Base salary $80,000-95,000 depending on level of experience
