Job summary

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division in Asheville, NC seeks a Manufacturing Engineer – ATS to provide engineering support for manufacturing operations and plant facility maintenance, and to lead complex projects within the Operational Excellence department.

You will apply manufacturing process knowledge, lead improvement events, analyze line capacity, design and install equipment, and support Industry 4.0 initiatives including MES implementation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
• No relocation benefit; only candidates within a 50‑mile radius of Asheville, NC will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Apply knowledge of manufacturing, fabrication and assembly processes, tooling and fixturing design.

• Plan, coordinate, and oversee changes and upgrades to the manufacturing facility.
• Lead events such as Shop Floor and Rapid Improvement Events to reduce costs.
• Conduct line capacity analysis and lead productivity improvements.
• Specify, design, quote, install, debug, and maintain equipment.
• Support MES implementation and Industry 4.0 initiatives on the shop floor.
• Provide cross‑functional support as directed.
• Design processes using PFMEA, document controls, SOPs.

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer – ATS. This position is onsite Monday‑Friday 8:00am‑5:00pm at our Asheville (Arden) NC Eaton facility.

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for providing a broad range of engineering support to manufacturing operations and plant facility maintenance; providing project responsibility for the execution of complex projects and project assignments within the Operational Excellence department; developing engineering and process control documentation for manufacturing needs; and providing coordination and technical guidance to production personnel as appropriate.

What you’ll do:

• Apply knowledge of manufacturing, fabrication and assembly processes, tooling and fixturing design and applications.
• Develop and implement improvements to manufacturing procedures through improved layout and material handling procedures.
• Train factory operators in the use of equipment, tooling and procedures.
• Plan, coordinate, and oversee changes and upgrades to the manufacturing facility.
• Lead events such as Shop Floor and Rapid Improvement Events to achieve factory cost‑out targets in your support area.
• Conduct line capacity analysis and lead labor productivity improvement initiatives to achieve business objectives.
• Specify, design, quote, install, debug, and maintain equipment for use in manufacturing.
• Support Eaton’s digitization initiatives with the implementation of manufacturing execution systems (MES) in shop floor, electronic data presentation, Industry 4.0, and automation.
• Support other key plant processes and provide cross‑functional support as directed.
• Design processes utilizing PFMEA, document controls, method sheets, standard operating procedures, etc.

Expected annual salary range: $71,000 – $105,000 a year.Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Qualifications

Basic Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in a manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Training and experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma Tools.
• Demonstrated proficiency with PC and related software (Microsoft Office, ERP SAP, AS400, AutoCAD).
• Knowledge of Industry 4.0 tactics and strategies.
