THE WORK

  • Analyze and interpret electrical, electromechanical, and cable schematics during development and production stages.
  • Update and create assembly work instructions for efficient assembly based on the drawings and/or models
  • Investigate technical problems and provide guidance in support of manufacturing operators to facilitate assembly performance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to manufacturing failures and help implement corrective action which may include design change recommendations.
  • Support the implementation of lean manufacturing techniques to improve efficiency and reduce waste in the manufacturing process
  • Provide input to product design regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
  • Work in close collaboration and guidance of Subject Matter Experts in the implementation of manufacturing functional improvements.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline or equivalent experience/combined education. Entry level.
  • Microsoft Office suite experience with MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Publisher
  • Familiarity with cable and/or harnesses production, and has the ability to analyze electrical and mechanical schematics and diagrams

Desired Skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Experience in a manufacturing engineering role, preferably in a similar industry
  • Familiarity with SAP (Qnotes, Routings, Bills of material) or a related manufacturing system
  • Familiarity with design for manufacturing concepts and application
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing concepts and technique and experience generating/implementing process improvements
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent verbal/written communications skills
  • Self-starter with demonstrated self-initiated goals and results
  • Demonstrated capability to multitask in support of multiple concurrent programs and initiatives

Ability to Work Remotely:Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules:Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position:4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
