Job summary

Hydro is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer - Extrusion in Phoenix, AZ to develop and optimize aluminum fabrication processes, improve throughput, and drive cost efficiency. You will work with cross-functional teams to implement new products, establish standardized procedures, and ensure safe, reliable operations across CNC machining, sawing, punching, bending, welding, and assembly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 0-5 years manufacturing or process engineering experience.
• Familiarity with 3D CAD software and Excel.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and root cause analysis.
• Ability to develop manufacturing processes and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
• Knowledge of BOMs, routings and process documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes for aluminum fabrication operations.
• Lead process planning and implementation for new products and fabrication lines.
• Collaborate with Product Development and Sales to evaluate manufacturability, capacity, cycle times, and costs.
• Develop and maintain standardized work instructions and documentation.
• Design, specify, and validate tooling, fixtures, gauges, and equipment.
• Partner with CNC programmers and technicians to validate programs and cycle times.
• Conduct time studies and line balancing to identify bottlenecks and improve throughput.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality and downtime issues.
• Apply Lean methodologies to reduce scrap and optimize costs.
• Support equipment selection, capital projects, and vendor coordination.
• Collaborate with Maintenance on reliability and preventive maintenance.
• Manage engineering changes and production documentation; maintain ERP/MES data.
• Provide technical guidance and training to operators and leads.
• Promote safe manufacturing practices and ensure PPE compliance.
• Collaborate with multiple departments to meet customer requirements.
