Job summary

Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company in Moorpark, CA is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to evaluate designs for manufacturability and lead manufacturing activities on multi-part assemblies.

You will develop tooling, create process documentation, apply Lean methods, and coordinate with engineering, production and quality teams to drive continuous improvement and ensure production readiness. Experience with CAD, GD&T and ERP/MRP is preferred.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in mechanical or manufacturing engineering and experience in multi-part mechanisms and mechanical assemblies.
• CAD, 3-D modeling, assembly drawings and GD&T knowledge.
• Design of tooling and fixtures; design for manufacturing methods and techniques.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with ability to lead programs/projects.
• Experience with aerospace products and processes; Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Development and maintenance of manufacturing documentation (product structures, routings, process specs, tooling).
• Solve manufacturing problems, investigate process failures and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure production viability of new designs and documentation approvals.
• Interface with production personnel including operators, quality inspectors, and shop floor supervisors.
• Implement Lean methodologies and develop automated test fixtures and assembly tools.
