Job summary

Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company (EBAD) is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in Moorpark, CA to evaluate designs for manufacturability and lead manufacturing improvements. You will work on tooling, lean processes, PFMEA, and cell layouts to support complex assemblies and space-related programs.

The role requires a BS/MS in engineering, experience with CAD/3D modeling, GD&T, ERP/MRP systems, and strong leadership and project-management skills.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in an engineering discipline with mechanical/manufacturing focus.
• Experience in multi-part mechanisms and mechanical assemblies.
• Experience in manufacturing environment and DFx methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation (product structures, routings, process specs, tooling).
• Solve manufacturing problems, investigate process failures and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure production viability of new designs and document approvals.
• Interface with production personnel including operators, quality inspectors, and shop floor supervisors.
• Implement Lean methodologies including standard work, point of use tooling, and process improvements.
• Develop automated test fixtures and assembly tools.
• Develop layouts of manufacturing cells including tooling, machinery and equipment.
• Create PFMEA and standard work; contribute to cell planning.
• Track status and ensure timely milestones for production programs.
• Create tool assemblies and drawings and input into tool setter database.
• Develop PQPR for machining part families.
