Aerospace Dynamics International, Inc. (ADI) in Valencia, CA manufactures machined parts and assemblies for the commercial and military aerospace industries. It offers structural components, caps, panels, bulkheads, fittings, longerons, spars, chords, wing ribs, thrust reversers, structural machine parts, manufacturing tooling and stretch form blocks.

ADI was acquired by PCC in April 2014. The company has received significant capital investments since the acquisition and has a highly positive growth trajectory ahead. Comprising seven facilities on its campus in Valencia, CA, ADI has over 240 full-time employees on staff.

Job Summary:

The Manufacturing Engineer will direct and implement engineering strategies and objectives to ensure the achiveiment of plant goals. This person will be responsible for defining, developing, and implementing manufacturing processes that guarantee the delivery of quality product on-time to customers, at a cost that enables company success.

Job Function:
  • Provides technical direction in the manufacturing of precision parts.
  • Forecasts resource requirements in a timely manner and allocates assigned resources according to priorities and resources.
  • Provides continuous surveillance to all manufacturing operations; ensures constant application of effort to control and reduce costs; recommends improvement in CNC programming, methods, processes, and materials; ensures compliance with engineering drawings, specifications and change orders..
  • Estimates, analyzes and assess critical issues and resources requirements for tool development projects.
  • Analyzes methods and manufacturing process problems to determine root cause and corrective actions to facilitate continuous improvements.
  • Works closely with QA department in establishing and administering test and inspection methods and procedures to ensure that all products released for final delivery meet established standards of quality and reliability.
  • Establishes and maintains safety operations by adhering to procedures and policies.
Job Requirements:
  • Must have operational excellence experience
  • Must have engineering experience, preferably in aerospace
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality controls, and costs
  • Understand/use techniques for effective control of delivered quality, cost, and schedule in the processing of aerospace products
  • Thorough knowledge of lean manufacturing work area practices including 5-S, Visual Controls, Standard Work, work center metrics, and continuous improvement processes and able to instruct others in these practices
  • Proactive communicator who can clearly articulate results and needs across all levels
  • Able to establish and communicate clear priorities and to influence others to support and act on those priorities
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines
Education:

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical, Materials, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering. Equivalent experienced considered.

Experience:

5+ years related operational experience

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $120,000 to $140,000 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 2X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter . Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company’s 401(k) plan.

This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)).
