Job summary

Pregis LLC is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in Tulsa to support line expansions, optimize assembly processes, and lead continuous improvement across the facility. This hands-on role emphasizes process excellence, collaborating closely with operators, supervisors, and cross-functional teams.

You will lead process studies, validate documentation, develop standard work, reduce waste, and implement engineering changes while traveling as needed for new products and production lines.

Job description

Manufacturing Engineer

If you enjoy solving manufacturing challenges and making a direct impact on production operations, this role offers the opportunity to support new line expansions, improve assembly processes, and drive continuous improvement across the facility. Working in our state‑of‑the‑art facility, closely with operators, supervisors, and cross-functional teams, you'll lead process improvement efforts, develop standardized work, reduce waste, improve quality, and help optimize how products are manufactured. This is a hands‑on Manufacturing Engineering role focused on process excellence rather than product design.

What You'll Do
  • Conduct studies that determine the most efficient sequence of operations and workflows and recommend methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel
  • Validate BOMs, work instructions, and other documentation against production and customer requirements
  • Analyze production processes, methods, and other data to optimize production
  • Identify opportunities to standardize improvements to machine assembly and apply them to other applicable applications across various machine platforms.
  • Resolve issues and delays in production using independent judgment and discretion
  • Collaborate with remote engineering teams to prepare new machines for production release
  • Aid QA department with process improvement and manufacturing work instruction updates
  • Create and modify work instructions
  • Analyze and plan workflow, equipment placement and space requirements to improve manufacturing efficiency, using a lean six-sigma and industrial engineering approach
  • Assist in design of assembly fixtures and jigs to aid the assembly process
  • Work closely with vendors for manufacturing fixture and test equipment development
  • Translate 3-D assembly models and detailed assembly drawings into manufacturing, along with identified CTQ’s (Critical to Quality)
  • Participate in DFMEA and DFA reviews with design engineering and drive PFMEA, particularly for new products and significant design changes
  • Balance multiple projects concurrently
  • Execute implementation of engineering changes into production
  • Domestic travel will be required periodically
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related ABET‑accredited program
  • Manufacturing Engineering experience in a production environment
  • Experience with process improvement, root cause analysis, and manufacturing documentation
  • Strong communication skills and ability to influence change across multiple levels of the organization
  • Ability to work effectively within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment
Preferred
  • Assembly manufacturing experience
  • Problem solving focus and the ability to think creatively troubleshoot machine issues, design constraints, and other roadblocks
  • Knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, and pneumatic systems
  • Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience
  • Experience developing SOPs, standard work, and process instructions
