Job description

We are seeking a Satellite Integration Manufacturing Engineer to support the planning, development, and execution of integration and assembly processes for satellite subsystems and full spacecraft. This role will focus on improving manufacturing workflows, supporting production quality, and ensuring compliance with aerospace standards throughout assembly and test activities.

The successful candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, technicians, quality, and program stakeholders to support spacecraft integration, assembly, and testing activities in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain manufacturing plans, assembly procedures, and work instructions for spacecraft integration activities.
• Design and support tooling, fixtures, and handling equipment for subsystem and spacecraft assembly.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure manufacturable and assembly-friendly designs.
• Support integration activities across spacecraft subsystems including structures, avionics, propulsion, harnessing, and payloads.
• Participate in discrepancy resolution and non-conformance activities to support production continuity and quality objectives.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and production flow.
• Review engineering drawings, BOMs, and design changes to ensure manufacturability and integration readiness.
• Support cleanroom operations and ensure compliance with ESD, FOD, and contamination control procedures.
• Assist with integration scheduling, assembly flow planning, and production coordination.
• Support integration and test readiness activities, including environmental test preparation and execution.
• Provide hands‑on engineering support during spacecraft assembly, integration, and test campaigns.
• Train and support technicians on assembly processes, tooling, and best practices.
• Ensure compliance with applicable aerospace quality and manufacturing standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
• Experience in aerospace manufacturing, spacecraft integration, or related engineering environments.
• Understanding of spacecraft subsystems and integration processes.
• Experience using CAD and PLM tools.
• Knowledge of GD&T, assembly tolerances, and precision alignment methods.
• Familiarity with cleanroom protocols, ESD controls, and contamination prevention.
• Understanding of lean manufacturing, process improvement, and root cause analysis methodologies.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Experience supporting hardware assembly, integration, and testing activities is advantageous.

Preferred Experience

• Background supporting high‑reliability aerospace or complex electromechanical hardware.
• Experience with tooling development and supplier coordination.
• Familiarity with aerospace quality and compliance standards.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Exposure to automation or advanced manufacturing technologies.
