  • Coordinate with project management, budgeting, and operations teams.
  • Identify and implement lean manufacturing improvements.
  • Conduct inspections, assessments, and compliance reviews.
  • Resolve production issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Job description

Insight Global is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer II for a leading defense manufacturing client supporting critical national security and munitions operations. This engineer will play a key role in the startup and optimization of a new production line at a large-scale manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in manufacturing engineering, be comfortable spending significant time on the production floor, and enjoy working directly with operations teams to improve processes and drive efficiency. This position offers a clear career growth path, exposure to highly specialized manufacturing operations, and the opportunity to contribute to mission-critical products supporting government and defense initiatives. Candidates with experience in manufacturing process optimization, lean initiatives, production support, and regulated manufacturing environments will be highly successful in this role.

Day-to-Day:

  • Support the launch and ramp-up of a new manufacturing production line
  • Partner with senior engineers during knowledge transfer activities
  • Spend the majority of time on the shop floor troubleshooting and improving processes
  • Develop and maintain operator procedures and manufacturing documentation
  • Drive engineering projects from design through production implementation
  • Coordinate with project management, budgeting, and operations teams
  • Identify and implement lean manufacturing improvements
  • Conduct inspections, assessments, and compliance reviews
  • Resolve production issues and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Manage technical specifications, equipment quotations, and purchase orders
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and manufacturing standards

Must-Haves:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Technology, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • 2-4 years of manufacturing engineering experience
  • Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals and manufacturing processes

Plusses:

  • Defense, munitions, energetics, explosives, or ammunition manufacturing experience
  • Experience implementing new manufacturing lines
