Job summary

Hormann LLC is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support daily production through hands-on operation of equipment, issue troubleshooting, and data management in SQL and Ignition. The role focuses on maintaining equipment performance, improving processes, and ensuring safe, reliable operations with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities include equipment setup, changeovers, startup of new lines, root-cause analysis, and developing SOPs.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or technical certification in Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, Mechatronics, or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • 5–10 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong reading of technical drawings and documentation.
  • Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Familiarity with PLC programming, SQL, and Ignition is a plus.

  • Monitor and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment and systems to support daily production.
  • Perform routine equipment setup, adjustments, and changeovers.
  • Assist in installation and startup of new equipment and production lines.
  • Identify equipment inefficiencies and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform basic root cause analysis on equipment and process issues and assist in corrective actions.
  • Perform basic problem-solving activities and A3-style problem solving.
  • Support preventive maintenance activities and coordinate with maintenance teams.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, instructions, and equipment documentation.
  • Assist in developing and updating SOPs and work instructions.
  • Document production issues, equipment performance, and corrective actions.

  • Pay or shift range: $60,000 USD to $70,000 USD The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job-related reasons.
Description

Job Summary: The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for supporting daily production operations through hands‑on interaction with manufacturing equipment, troubleshooting issues, maintaining SQL and Ignition databases and assisting with process improvements. This role focuses on maintaining equipment performance, supporting production efficiency, and implementing solutions to meet customer and business requirements.

The position works closely with engineering, production, and maintenance teams to ensure equipment and processes are operating safely, reliably, and efficiently.

Major Responsibilities/Activities
  • Monitor and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment and systems to support daily production
  • Perform routine equipment setup, adjustments, and changeovers
  • Assist in the installation and startup of new equipment and production lines
  • Identify equipment inefficiencies and support continuous improvement initiatives

  • Conduct basic system or product testing as required

Additional Responsibilities

This role may participate in cross‑functional projects and support activities outside of core responsibilities, particularly those involving equipment, tooling, or production processes.

  • Associate degree or technical certification in Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, Mechatronics, or related field (or equivalent hands‑on experience)
  • 5 – 10 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with manufacturing equipment and tools
  • Experience with troubleshooting equipment and basic maintenance practices preferred
  • Ability to read technical drawings and documentation
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Familiarity with PLC programming
  • Familiarity with SQL and Ignition
  • Familiarity with CAD or 3D modeling software is a plus
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment
  • Willingness to work flexible hours as needed to support production

This role regularly utilizes manufacturing equipment, hand tools, and precision measuring devices, along with standard computer software.
