Responsibilities

• Lead Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives across production operations.
• Improve manufacturing processes using Value Stream Mapping and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Develop and implement manufacturing processes, tooling, fixtures, and work instructions.
• Support fabrication operations including sheet metal, welding, stamping, punching, bending, finishing, and assembly.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions.

Job description

They are a global leader in IT infrastructure and data center solutions, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join its team in Simi Valley, CA. We are looking for an experienced engineer with a strong background in metal fabrication manufacturing, including sheet metal fabrication, welding, bending/forming, stamping, punching, and assembly operations. This role will focus on driving operational excellence through Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and process optimization initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives across production operations
• Improve manufacturing processes using Value Stream Mapping and Six Sigma methodologies
• Develop and implement manufacturing processes, tooling, fixtures, and work instructions
• Support fabrication operations including sheet metal, welding, stamping, punching, bending, finishing, and assembly
• Partner with Product Design teams to ensure Design for Manufacturability (DFM)
• Lead equipment, facility, and capital improvement projects
• Analyze production metrics, capacities, labor requirements, and manufacturing costs
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions
• Support new product introductions and ECO/ECN activities
• Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards and ergonomic requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor\'s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Minimum 5 years of Manufacturing Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong experience in a metal fabrication environment

Hands-on knowledge of:

• Sheet Metal Fabrication
• Welding Processes
• Press Brake / Bending Operations
• Metal Stamping & Punching
• Manufacturing Tooling & Fixtures
• Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement expertise
• Six Sigma experience (Green Belt or Black Belt preferred)
• Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
• Experience with ERP systems
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Ability to travel domestically up to 25%-50%
