Job summary

Dexter is seeking a Manufacturing/Process Engineer to develop maintenance procedures, improve methods, and design tooling to maximize production efficiency. You will analyze workflows, plan layouts, coordinate with engineering and vendors, estimate staffing and costs, apply statistical methods, supervise equipment installation, and drive problem solving with clear communication.

The role requires hands-on mechanical aptitude, CAD proficiency, and willingness to work flexible hours to support

Qualifications

  • 3 years related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Well versed in AutoCAD/Inventor
  • In-depth understanding of Engineering Principles
  • Solid understanding of process knowledge for troubleshooting and developing new products
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and high mechanical aptitude (hands‑on)

Responsibilities

  • Develop maintenance procedures and ensure implementation.
  • Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods.
  • Solid understanding of technical aspects of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, plumbing, etc.
  • Strong background in machine troubleshooting.
  • Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
  • Design machinery and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
  • Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
  • Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
  • Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to assist with management decisions.
  • Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
  • Working knowledge of facilities, machines and equipment.
  • Exceptional problem solving and decision‑making abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Manage relationships with contractors and service providers.
  • Plan and oversee all equipment installation activities.
  • Ability to keep track of and report on activity.
  • Assist in CAPEX plan and plant operating budget.
  • Willingness to work flexible and extended hours as necessary to support production needs.
  • Performs other tasks or duties assigned.
