Title: Manufacturing Engineer

Location: San Francisco, CA

Duration: 6-12 mos CTH

SUMMARY:

The role of the manufacturing technician is to support the larger team in producing world-class products and production lines.If you have a strong work ethic, are reliable, and value teamwork in a safety focused environment, we want to hear from you.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in developing and refining manufacturing process with manufacturing engineers
• Assemble electrical devices using cables and connectors
• Assemble parts using screwdrivers and wrenches
• Help bring up equipment and tools by assembly, testing and trials
• Supervise electrical and mechanical test equipment (both automated and manual)
• Roll out process changes to production equipment
• Respond to advanced maintenance issues and document and communicate issues with the team
• Interact daily with Manufacturing Engineers to communicate results and receive tasks
• Assist with root cause analysis
• Assist Manufacturing Engineers with ensuring equipment and processes meet production capacity targets and outputs.

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal
• Experience with mechanical or mechatronic systems
• Soldering experience is a plus.
• Mechanical assembly using screwdrivers, torque wrenches, clamps and additives such as loctite, bearing grease, etc.
• Able to problem solve and work with minimal supervision toward a stated goal.
• Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 35 lbs
• Electrical assembly including wire routing, low-voltage cable cutting + stripping + crimping. Familiarity with common electrical components such as motors, pumps, valves, solenoids.
• Electrical testing using a multimeter, power supply or similar connectivity tester.
• Ability to read and follow electrical documentation, electrical drawings, etc.
• Mechanical inspection including using calipers, ruler, tape measure, and visual inspection following a checklist.
• Handling of small components such as small wires, thin walled fluid bags + tubes, syringes, coolant fittings, small screws and washers, etc
• Handling and moving large components using a manual pallet jack, stacker, carts or similar.
• Ability to use a laptop, view and create documents in Microsoft Word, Excel, or similar softwares (such as Google Docs, Sheets, etc).
• Ability to communicate clearly in english with engineering team
• Possesses excellent attention to detail
• Not required, but familiarity with basic shop tools such as band saw, manual mill, drill press, 3D printers a plus.
